Greetings!

Hey, I’m Starlene, a Black wedding officiant in Maryland, serving Prince George’s County, Montgomery County, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia. With 21+ years of experience, I’m still going strong—living my best semi-retired life as a minister, activist, and creative soul. These days, I focus on inner peace, spirituality, and love while still doing what I enjoy.

I find pure joy in officiating weddings, designing statement hats, and creating art in all its forms. “Startum” is my brainchild, a name I created in the ‘70s when my world revolved around the arts.

Now, as a spiritual worker, I send healing vibrations to seekers. That energy flows into everything I do, including my work as an officiant.

I am ordained in Spiritual Science, have been married for 32+ years, and wholeheartedly believe in the power of God and miracles. When I’m not officiating weddings or creating, I’m a caretaker to two feral cats, and a cockerpoo-beagle mix.

My years of experience, dedication, and expertise are reflected in my fee. I believe in honoring my craft and growth, with an annual salary increase (listed on our sister site) to ensure I continue offering top-tier services.
