		A baby naming ceremony is a very important ritual and should not be taken lightly.  Our name is a badge of honor that is worn proudly. It anchors us into this world and to our spirit.  It is a significant part of our personality and a spiritual link to who we're going to be.  Therefore, a naming ceremony helps with a child's development into adulthood by showing him/her the importance of his/her name early in life.  In many cultures, the public naming of a child takes place within the first month of a child's life. However, it can take place at a time the parents select.  A naming ceremony is also for an adult who has found the need to change his/her name and lifestyle.
